Government charter published by the Dicastery
We welcome with gratitude the Charter of Government that the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life published on October 18. It allows us to continue to move forward in our momentum of renewal in communion with the Church.
Three points should be noted:
- The charter no longer speaks of “Father” of the Home but of “priest” of the Home.
- It mentions the regionalization of the Foyers of Charity around the world and the conditions of existence and operation of the latter.
- Common life is reaffirmed as one of the foundations of the Foyers de Charité. The charter specifies that each community must be made up of at least 4 people under the age of 75 and the person in charge of the Foyer de Charité will not necessarily be a priest.
